ordered it. I downloaded the software from Microsoft, plugged it in and voila! I'm running Windows 8.1 on a fairly recent computer (2013). It delivers a fairly bright 720p image (for internet) and can record in 1080p. I did not notice any random instances of fluctuating focus and/or zoom.
